Dog Grooming
🐾 NUTTY MUTTS – GROOMING TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Deposits & Bookings
A non-refundable £15 deposit is required to secure all grooming appointments.

This deposit may be transferred once if more than 48 hours’ notice is given
-
Less than 48 hours’ notice = deposit forfeited
-
No-shows = full appointment charge
2. Collection & Late Fees
Dogs must be collected at the agreed time.

Late collection will be charged at £5 per 30 minutes
-
Continued lateness may result in refusal of future bookings
3. Health & Suitability
The Client confirms that their dog:
-
is fit and healthy for grooming
-
has not been recently exposed to contagious illness
Nutty Mutts reserves the right to:
-
refuse grooming if a dog appears unwell
-
request vet clearance where necessary
Puppies must be 2 weeks post final vaccination before attending.
Dogs must not be:
-
in season
-
pregnant
-
within 24 hours of microchipping
4. Behaviour & Handling
The Client must disclose any history of:
-
aggression
-
biting
-
anxiety
-
handling sensitivity
Failure to disclose = immediate termination with full charge
Nutty Mutts reserves the right to:
-
use appropriate restraint methods (including muzzles)
-
stop or refuse a groom at any time
If a groom is stopped due to behaviour:
-
full grooming fee still applies
5. Welfare First Policy
Nutty Mutts operates under a strict welfare-first approach.
We reserve the right to:
-
alter the groom
-
shorten the groom
-
stop the groom entirely
If continuing would:
-
cause distress
-
risk injury to the dog
-
risk injury to staff
No refunds will be given in these cases.
6. Matting Policy
If a dog is presented with matting:
-
Matting will not be brushed out where it causes pain or distress
-
Severely matted coats will be clipped off (shaved)
The Client understands:
-
this may result in a significantly shorter coat than requested
-
style requests cannot be honoured on matted coats
Risks of Matting Removal Include:
-
skin irritation
-
clipper rash
-
cuts or nicks
-
haematomas
-
post-groom itching or discomfort
-
uncovering of pre-existing skin conditions
The Client accepts ALL risks associated with mat removal
Additional charges apply:
-
£5–£10 for minor de-matting (max 15 mins)
-
beyond this → clip-off required + additional £10+ charge
7. Injury & Accidents
Whilst every care is taken, grooming involves:
-
sharp tools
-
close contact
-
moving animals
Minor injuries may occur, including:
-
small nicks
-
clipper irritation
-
nail quicking
The Client agrees:
-
these are accepted risks of grooming
-
Nutty Mutts is not liable unless caused by negligence
8. Parasites (Fleas & Ticks)
If fleas are found:
-
Groom will be stopped or treated
-
£15 flea treatment fee applies
If ticks are found:
-
Removal fee £5 per tick
Salon sanitation costs are included in this charge.
9. Two Groomer Handling
Where required for:
-
behaviour
-
size
-
welfare
A second groomer may be used: Charged at £10 per 30 minutes
10. Veterinary Treatment
If a dog requires urgent veterinary care:
-
Nutty Mutts may seek treatment immediately
-
The Client agrees to pay ALL associated costs
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Nutty Mutts is not liable for:
-
injury, illness, or death of a pet
-
pre-existing conditions revealed during grooming
-
reactions following grooming (e.g. itching, irritation)
Except in cases of proven negligence.
12. Personal Property
Nutty Mutts is not responsible for:
-
lost or damaged collars, leads, or accessories
13. Media Consent
The Client consents to:
-
photos/videos being taken
-
use for marketing
14. Complaints
All complaints must be submitted within 24 hours in writing.
15. Cancellation Policy
-
48+ hours → reschedule allowed
-
<48 hours → full charge
-
No-show → full charge
Packages:
-
session deducted
16. Refusal of Service
Nutty Mutts reserves the right to:
-
refuse any dog or client
-
cancel any appointment at its sole discretion
17. Amendments
These terms may be updated at any time.
Use of services = acceptance.
